POS Terminal
Introduction
A Point of Sale abbreviated as POS is a system that involves both hardware and software working together to process and track a transaction between a buyer and a seller. The hardware includes terminals with displays, receipt printers, signature-capture capabilities, and add-on tools like barcode scanners and scales. The software includes an application that calculates prices, taxes, and fees, processes payments, and issues receipts.All the settings pertaining to your iVendNext POS Terminal can be found under POS Terminal. It defines the name of the Company, name of the Store, and the Hardware Profile that your POS is attached to.
1. Access the POS Terminal
To access the POS Terminal, navigate to: Home > Retail. Under the Settings section click on the POS Terminal shortcut. Alternatively you can navigate to Home. Click on the Awesome Bar and then type the keyword - “POS Terminal List”. The application will perform a global search and will show results from several different record types related to the keyword. Click on the POS Terminal List search result to launch the POS Terminal List View Screen.

3. Steps to create a POS Terminal
Creating a POS Terminal in iVendNext involves the following steps:
1. Access POS Terminal:
Go to Home > Retail > Settings > POS Terminal.
2. Create New POS Terminal:
Click on "Add POS Terminal" to launch the new POS Terminal Creation Screen.
3. Enter POS Terminal Name:
Provide a name for the POS Terminal.
4. Specify the Company:
Select a Company. The value in this field is usually prepopulated and is fetched from the Company Master.
5. Specify the Store:
Select a Store.
6. Save the profile:
Save the profile after entering all the necessary details.
4. POS Terminal Creation Screen
The various fields in the New POS Terminal screen are explained below:
Name
Specify a name for your POS Terminal. This is a text field. Type a suitable name for your POS Terminal. This field is mandatory.
Company
Specify the Company name. You can either select a company name from the list of company names displayed or choose to create a new company by clicking on the Create a new company option. In iVendNext, the first Company is created when an iVendNext account is set up. For each Company, you can set a domain as manufacturing, retail, or services depending on the nature of your business activity. All the settings pertaining to the Company are managed and controlled from the Company Master screen This field is mandatory. This field is mandatory.
Store
You need to bind your POS Profile to a Store also known as a Warehouse in iVendNext. Select your Store from the drop down list. In case you don’t see your Store in the list displayed, you can make use of the Advanced Search feature to search your Store. The application also allows you to create a new Store if you want to by clicking on the Create a new Warehouse shortcut. This field is mandatory.
Hardware Profile
Specify the Hardware Profile name. You can either select a Hardware Profile from the list of Hardware Profiles displayed or choose to create a new Hardware Profile by clicking on the Create a new Hardware Profile option.
Moneris Device ID
This is a Text Box. Specify the Moneris Device ID if you want to allow your cashiers to be able to accept credit and debit card payments from customers using the Moneris Payment Device. The Moneris Payment Processor allows you to offer a quick, seamless and secure payment experience to your customers.
Has Multiple Cash Drawers
Check this box if you want to bind multiple Cash Drawers to your POS Terminal. A POS Terminal in iVendNext can at any given point have a maximum of 2 Cash Drawers
5. Reinitialising the POS Terminal
Every time you want to replace one POS Terminal with another, you MUST release the POS Terminal by clicking on the Release Terminal button. The steps are summarized below:
Select the POS Terminal
Click the Actions Button.
Click on the Release Terminal option.
This will clear the Hardware ID field. This is called Reinitialising the POS Terminal.
6. Reinitialising the Customer Display
Every time you want to replace one Customer Display with another, you MUST release the Customer Display by clicking on the Release Customer Display button. The steps are summarized below:

Click the Actions Button.
Click on the Release Customer Display option.
This will clear the Hardware ID field. This is called Reinitialising the Customer Display.
