iVendNext Loyalty Implementation

Introduction

iVendNext Loyalty is a comprehensive points and rewards application designed to enhance customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. It is part of the iVendNext Retail suite and offers a flexible system for managing loyalty points, which can be accrued through purchases, visits, or other activities. These points can be redeemed for various rewards, such as discounts or gift items, across different channels.   

Loyalty Implementation Prerequisite

The following prerequisites must be completed before you can access Loyalty Implementation on iVendNext Point of Sale: 

  • Set up a Loyalty Program 

  • Enroll a Customer in a Loyalty Program

Loyalty Implementation Steps

The steps to implement Loyalty on iVendNext Point of Sale are split into the following subsections: 

  • Set Up Loyalty Program

  • Create a Customer

  • Enroll Customer in a Loyalty Program

  • Check Loyalty Points Balance Pre Transaction

  • Perform Transactions 

  • Check Loyalty Points Earned Post Transaction

  • Loyalty Points Redemption

Setup Loyalty Program

The steps to set up a Loyalty Program are as follows:

Navigate to: Home > Retail. Then under the Loyalty Program section click on the Loyalty Setup shortcut. This should take you to the Loyalty Setup List View screen. 

Click on the Add Loyalty Setup button. This should take you to the New Loyalty Plan screen. Fill in the required information including the mandatory fields. All the mandatory fields are marked with red asterisks.

Click the Save button, to save the data and exit the screen.

For illustration we have created a new Loyalty Program  - Elite

Create a Customer

The steps to enroll a Customer in a Loyalty Program are as follows:

Navigate to Home > Selling. Then click on the Customer shortcut to open the Customer List View screen.

Click on the Add Customer button. This should take you to the New Customer screen. Fill in the required information including the mandatory fields. All the mandatory fields are marked with red asterisks.

Click the Save button, to save the data and exit the screen.

This newly created customer (Dany Rand) can be seen listed on the Customer List View screen below:

Enroll the newly created Customer in a Loyalty Program

The steps to enroll a newly created Customer in a Loyalty Program are as follows:

Navigate to Home. Type 'Customer List' in the Awesome Bar located in the upper right-hand corner in iVendNext. Simply entering a few characters in the Search Bar will show results from several different record types (Contact, Customer, Issues, etc.) related to that keyword. You can also customize the fields based on which search will be shown.

Perform a Customer Search to locate your newly created Customer (Dany Rand)

Put a tick in the Loyalty Master checkbox. This will unlock the Loyalty Program field. 

Select the Loyalty Program from the Drop Down list.

Click the Save button to save the changes and exit the screen.

Check Loyalty Points Balance - Pre Transaction

The steps to check Loyalty Points Balance are as follows:

Navigate to Home. Type 'Loyalty Journal List' in the Awesome Bar located in the upper right-hand corner in iVendNext. Simply entering a few characters in the Search Bar will show results from several different record types (Contact, Customer, Issues, etc.) related to that keyword. You can also customize the fields based on which search will be shown.

This should take you to the Loyalty Journal List View screen. (As shown in the image below)

Click on the Customer ID (C00206) for Dany Rand. This should open the Loyalty Journal Details screen.

You might have noticed that our newly created Customer Dany Rand has not performed any transaction so far. However, he has been rewarded with 10 Loyalty Points. This is because of the setting - Award Bonus Points on Registration

 

This setting implies that upon Loyalty Enrollment the customer will be rewarded with 10 Loyalty Points as a welcome bonus.

The Loyalty Point Balance for Dany Rand (C00206) is 10 Loyalty Points.

Conduct Sale Transaction(s)

The steps to perform a simple sale transaction are as follows:

Navigate to: Home > Retail. Click on the iVendNext POS shortcut. This will open the iVendNext POS screen. 

Perform a Customer search and add Dany Rand, our Loyalty Customer.

Perform an item search and add a few items on the Transaction Grid.

Select the desired mode of payment and make the payment. 

We have made the payment using Cash and Credit Card. This can also be seen on the View Transaction Details screen.

Check Loyalty Points Balance - Post Transaction

The steps to check Loyalty Points Balance are as follows:

Navigate to the Loyalty Journal Details screen. 

You might have noticed that the Loyalty Point Balance for Dany Rand (C00206) has increased from 10 Loyalty Points to 103 Loyalty Points.

Redeem Loyalty Points Balance

The steps to redeem Loyalty Points Balance are as follows:

Navigate to: Home > Retail. Click on the iVendNext POS shortcut. This will open the iVendNext POS screen. 

Perform a Customer search and add Dany Rand, our Loyalty Customer.

Perform an item search and add a few items on the Transaction Grid.

Click the Quick Cash button. You should see a confirmation popup screen. Click Yes to proceed to the Payment screen.

This time we have made the payment using Cash, Credit Card, and Loyalty Points. This can be also seen on the View Transaction Details screen.

In case the Cashier attempts to redeem Loyalty Points exceeding the Total Available Balance Loyalty Points, the application will prevent this action and display an error message on the screen.

The application will also tell you the maximum points that can be redeemed. Once redeemed, the Loyalty Journal will display the redeemed points in negative value.

In our illustration Dany Rand has redeemed $30 i.e 60 Loyalty Points.
