1. Steps to create an Custom Display Control 

The steps to create an Custom Display Control are explained below:

Step 1. Navigate to Home > Retail. Then under the POS Interface & Controls section click on the Custom Display Control shortcut. 

This should take you to the Custom Display Control List View screen. This List View screen displays data in a list format where each row represents a Custom Display Control.

Step 2.  Click on the Add Custom Display Control button in the top right corner. This will open the New Custom Display Control screen. All the settings pertaining to your Custom Display Control can be configured from this screen.

Fill in the details on the New Custom Display Control screen including the mandatory fields. Click the Save button to save the changes and exit the screen. The screenshot below depicts a Customer Display Control - IN - Transaction Mode.

Control Name 

Specify the Control Name. Control Name refers to the specific label or designation given to a control element that is displayed on the customer-facing screen. Identification: 

Control Names provide a clear and concise way to identify different controls on the customer display. For example, controls might be named "Total Amount," "Item Description," or "Promotional Message."

In the customer display interface, Control Names are shown to help customers understand the information being presented. Clear and intuitive names improve the overall customer experience by making the display more user-friendly.

Configuration and Customization: 

Control Names can often be customized to fit the specific needs of a business. This allows businesses to tailor the customer display to their unique processes and terminology, ensuring that the information is relevant and easily understood by customers.

Select Editor 

Select the Editor from the drop down list. Your options are:

  • Text Editor

  • HTML Editor

  • Print Format

Text Editor

A Text Editor is a tool that allows you to input, edit, and format plain text. This can be used for creating and modifying text-based content that will be displayed on the customer-facing screen. 

Some of the key features of a Text Editor are listed below: 

Basic Formatting: 

Options to bold, italicize, underline, and change the font size of the text.

Content Editing: 

Ability to add, delete, and rearrange text.

Simple Interface: 

Typically provides a straightforward interface for quick and easy text modifications.

HTML Editor

An HTML editor is a more advanced tool that allows you to create and edit HTML code. This is useful for designing and customizing the layout and content of the customer display with greater precision. 

Some of the key features of an HTML Editor are listed below: 

HTML Coding: 

Ability to write and edit HTML tags and elements.

Preview Functionality: 

Often includes a preview pane to see how the HTML content will look on the customer display.

Advanced Formatting: 

Supports embedding images, links, and other multimedia elements to enhance the display.

Print Format

Print Format refers to the layout and style in which information is printed or displayed on the customer-facing screen. This includes the arrangement of text, images, and other elements to ensure clarity and readability.
