Sell iVendNext Gift Cards
Introduction
A Gift Card is a popular way to boost sales. You can issue digital gift cards or paper gift cards or a combination of both. These cards can be sold as standalone products or offered for free as a part of a campaign. A gift card carries a specific amount of money that can be used at the Store to make purchases.
Gift Cards in iVendNext can either be System Defined or User Defined and can be used as a Payment Type in sale and refund transactions.
Every Gift Card issued in iVendNext carries a unique number and depending on the customer's preference, can either be redeemed partially or in full.
Sell a Gift Card
A Gift Card is a popular way to boost sales. You can issue digital gift cards or paper gift cards or a combination of both from the POS.
The steps involved in selling a Gift Card are no different than selling an item on the POS. The steps to create a Gift Card in iVendNext are explained below:
Navigate to: Home > Retail. Click on the iVendNext POS shortcut. This will open the iVendNext POS screen.
Perform an item search on the transaction screen. There are 3 possible ways to perform a product search in iVendNext.
By making use of the item search bar
You can search an item by code, description, or barcode.
By making use of the item search tile
You can click on the item search tile to open the item list view screen and look for the desired item.
By using a barcode scanner to scan in items.
Scanning an item barcode using a barcode scanner will automatically add the item to the transaction grid.
When you search for “Gift Cards”, the search bar will list all products containing the word “Gift Cards”’. Also listed with the items are the item codes.
Upon selecting a Gift Card, the application will ask you to specify the Gift Card Serial Number. Every Gift Card issued in iVendNext carries a unique number also known as the Gift Card Serial Number.
Add a Customer. If you'd like to record the sale you've made against a customer's name, you must add that customer to the sale. However, there are 2 possibilities here. Customer’s name might already exist in the database, as he might have registered himself with iVendNext or he may be a customer who has just walked in for the first time in your store
If he is an existing customer, you can look him up by entering his details using the customer search tile. You may use one of the below search filters to perform a customer search:
Customer Code
Customer Name
Email Address
Phone Number
Using the Item Edit tile you can change quantity, change price, and apply discount.
Now that you have selected the item and added the customer, click the Quick Cash button. You should see a confirmation popup screen. Click Yes to proceed to the Payment screen.
Select the desired mode of payment and make the payment. If the tendered amount is more than the total price, the application will display the balance to be paid back to the customer. This change amount will also be printed on the transaction receipt.
The transaction will automatically print on the printer attached to the POS Register .
