Café is ready for a chain to run on iVendNext POS: drinks with priced choices, grab-and-go, a bill for a table, a happy hour on a basket and a loyalty program that pays cash back. This note says what it does today and what is still being built. The full list for every kind of outlet is What iVendNext offers a restaurant.
What it does today
- Choices on the line. A latte asks for a size, a milk (some free, some priced) and extras, and each lands on the order with its own price.
- Grab-and-go. A banana or a croissant is one tap and needs no kitchen ticket.
- Tables are optional. Tick Table service to use them. A guest scans the table's QR code and orders from a phone; the order goes onto the table's bill, and the server sends it.
- The barista's screen shows each order with its options and allergens, and the Now serving board shows the call numbers.
- A happy hour on a basket, such as a coffee with a pastry, applies inside its hours and not outside them.
- Sales tax per store. A store in a state with no sales tax sells at 0 percent.
- Tips at Pay, cash with change and closing the day work as in quick service.
- Loyalty. A member who joins through Customer-owned loyalty earns cash back on counter sales. The cash back is pending for the return window, then credited. The till's own button for joining a program does not join this one yet, and a customer attached to a table's bill does not reach the sale yet, so attach the member on a counter sale.
- Recipes take ingredients off stock when the back office issues them. A swap (oat milk) or a removed ingredient does not change the stock taken off yet.
Good to know
- A dish the kitchen marks sold out after its order was sent has to come off the order before Pay.
- This release was walked with cash. On the plain Card tender, a payment taken on the bank's own machine, the till asks for five details today (name, last four digits, expiry, slip number and amount).
- Full service and Bar are not part of this release.
Being built
- Spending the loyalty cash back at the till. The app earns and keeps it; the till does not spend it yet.
- A tip written on the slip after the card is authorized.
- Covers, table turns and tips by server in the back office.
- Delivery platforms, where you deliver.
