POS Studio is where you choose how your till, tablet and phone look: the layout, the colors, the words and colors on the buttons, the extra fields on the customer and item screens, and the order of the keys. This page covers opening it and what each part of a theme does.
Opening POS Studio
- In iVendNext Desk, search for POS Studio and open it.
- It opens the theme your stores use most, on its own form. That form is where you make changes.
Only a System Manager or a Retail Manager can open POS Studio.
Retail POS Theme
A theme is one saved set of choices about how the POS looks. Each store picks its theme in the Theme (Till, Tablet and Phone) field of its POS Profile. You can also select Apply to… on the theme, choose a POS Profile and select Apply, once for each store that should use it. A theme keeps choices, never code. A till follows a change at its next sign-in or reload.
Four themes come with the till: Standard, Summer Breeze, Quicksilver and Ironwood. They stay as they ship: they cannot be changed, renamed or deleted, but you can switch one off with Disabled. To make your own, open one, select Save as a new theme, and give the copy a name. A theme you made can be renamed, and every store that used it follows the new name.
| Tab and field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Theme Name | The theme's name. |
| Disabled | A disabled theme cannot be picked. A store that uses one falls back to the shipped look. |
| Layout | The arrangement the till draws: Standard, Summer Breeze, Quicksilver or Ironwood. Standard is the shipped one. |
| Palette | The color set the screens use: Standard, Teal, Green or Indigo. It changes color only. |
| Colour | Your own color in place of the palette. Its shade adjusts so that text stays readable. |
| Buttons: Button names | Your own name for a button. A button with no row keeps the name it ships with. A row can be for one language only, or for every language. The name does not change who may press the button. |
| Buttons: Button colours | Your own color for a single button. A button with no row keeps the theme's color. The text color can be left to the screen, forced dark or light, or chosen by you. |
| Fields: Field rules | Hide a field, rename it, require it on a new customer, or show up to three more Item and three more Customer fields. With no rows, the screens are as shipped. |
| Apps | Tick boxes for the keys that installed apps add to the till, grouped under iVendNext apps and Custom apps. Where a key sits is set in the Designer tab. |
| Button groups: Button groups on the till | Switched on, the till shows up to four group keys above the band, and each opens its keys. Blank means the standard groups. |
| Designer: Arrangement | Your own order for the till's command keys. Blank uses the layout's order. A few keys cannot be hidden, and Desk tells you which when you try. |
The Desk POS keeps its own theme setting. A POS theme changes the till, tablet and phone only.
