Step-by-step walkthrough

From zero to a first answer, in order. Follow this once and your team is ready.

1. Administrator: confirm the gateway is on. Open the AI Gateway Settings and check that Enable AI Gateway is on.

2. Administrator: enable the right packs. Core is on by default. Switch on Data Science and Visualisation if your team will use analysis and dashboards.

3. Administrator: set tool access. Restrict privileged tools to trusted roles. Leave read and search tools open.

4. Administrator: enable users. Give each user the Assistant User role and confirm the Assistant Access flag.

5. User: connect the assistant. Copy the Connection URL from Settings, add it to your AI client, and authorise with your iVendNext login (section 7).

6. User: ask a simple question. Try "How many customers do I have?" to confirm the connection works.

7. User: run a real task. Ask for a report: "Run the Sales Register for last month and summarise the top five customers."

8. Administrator: review the audit log. Open the log and confirm the actions are recorded as expected.
