Material Transfer from Delivery Note and Purchase Receipt

In iVendNext, you can create a Material Transfer entry from a Stock Entry document. However, there are some scenarios in the Material Transfer where it needs to be presented as a Delivery Note and Purchase Receipt.

Material Transfer from Delivery Note

There are some scenarios in the Material Transfer where it needs to be presented as a Delivery Note

Scenarios

One of the examples is when you transfer a Material from your stores to the project site, however, you need to present it as a Delivery Note to the client.

Also, there are statutory requirements where taxes are to be applied on each transfer of Material. It is easier to manage in a transaction like Delivery Note, than in the Stock Entry.

The Delivery Note can carry a Material Transfer for this reason.

Steps

Following are the steps to use Delivery Note for creating Material Transfer entry.

Show the Target Warehouse

The Delivery Note Item table has a hidden column called Target Warehouse. To show it, tick "Allow Material Transfer from Delivery Note to Sales Invoice" in Stock Settings.

The customer must represent the same company. In the Customer form, tick Is Internal Customer and select your company in Represents Company.

Select Warehouses

When you create a Delivery Note for Material Transfer, pick the source in the row's Warehouse.

In Target Warehouse, select the warehouse that receives the material.

On the submission of a Delivery Note, the item's stock will be deducted from the row's Warehouse and added to the Target Warehouse.

Material Transfer from Purchase Receipt

There are some scenarios in the Material Transfer where it needs to be presented as a Purchase Receipt

Scenarios

There are statutory requirements where taxes are to be applied on each transfer of Material. It is easier to manage a situation like this in a transaction like Purchase Receipt, than in the Stock Entry as taxes cannot be applied on transfers of items via Stock Entry

Steps

Following are the steps to use Purchase Receipt for creating Material Transfer Entry.

Show the From Warehouse

The Purchase Receipt Item table has a hidden column called From Warehouse. To show it, tick "Allow Material Transfer from Purchase Receipt to Purchase Invoice" in Stock Settings.

The supplier must represent the same company. In the Supplier form, tick Is Internal Supplier and select your company in Represents Company.

Select Warehouses

When you create a Purchase Receipt for Material Transfer, pick the receiving warehouse in the row's Accepted Warehouse.

In the row's From Warehouse, select the warehouse the material comes from.

On submission of the Purchase Receipt, the item's stock will be deducted from the From Warehouse and added to the Accepted Warehouse.
