Every screen and control, explained
Copilot lives in a single panel with a conversation area and a sidebar. This section names each element and what it is for.
The chat panel
The panel opens from the Copilot button and floats above iVendNext. It has three parts: a header, a sidebar on the left, and the conversation area on the right.
| Element | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Copilot button | The round launcher in the bottom-right of every page. Opens and closes the panel. |
| Header | Shows the assistant's name and the controls to minimise the panel, start a new conversation, and open Help. |
| Company selector | Sets which company the conversation works against. Only shown when you have more than one company. |
| Message area | Where the conversation appears. Your messages align right; Copilot's replies align left and can contain tables, links, and charts. |
| Input box | Where you type. Supports plain language, file uploads, and image uploads. |
| Suggested questions | After many answers, Copilot offers follow-up questions as one-click chips to keep you moving. |
The sidebar
The sidebar manages your conversations and has three modes you can switch between.
Managing conversations
New conversation: starts a clean thread for an unrelated task.
Search: filters your conversation list by title as you type.
Categories: each conversation carries a category for fast filtering. Available categories are: General, Finance, Sales, Stock, Purchase, and Retail. Copilot sets one automatically; you can change it.
Pin: keeps a conversation at the top of the list.
Rename: gives a thread a meaningful title.
Close or delete: archives a conversation or removes it permanently.
Export: save a conversation as a printable page or as a spreadsheet-friendly file for sharing.
How answers are presented
| Format | When you see it |
|---|---|
| Text | Direct answers, summaries, and explanations. |
| Tables | Lists and report rows, such as invoices, customers, or stock by warehouse. |
| Document links | References to real iVendNext records open the document when clicked. |
| Charts | Bar and line charts for trends and comparisons, drawn inside the reply. |
| Step notes | A short line naming each action Copilot takes, so you can follow its reasoning. |
| Confirmation prompts | A clear yes-or-no checkpoint before any document is created, updated, or submitted. |
Personalisation
Administrators can set the assistant's display name and an accent colour so Copilot matches your brand. These appear across the chat panel and in any emails Copilot sends.
