Use bin locations to note what sits in each bin and to find an item's bin. Nothing here changes your stock: see What it does.

What is in each bin

On the IVENDNEXT BLN Bins page choose What is in each bin, then Add:

  1. Bin: the bin.
  2. Item: the item that sits in it.
  3. Qty in this bin: how many you put there.

Each bin and item pair has one record, named after both. The record also has a Movements table where you may note each movement: its Kind (Putaway, Pick out, Pick in or Sale), Qty, Short (sold, not in the bin), Reference (sale, stock entry) and At.

The fields Back room or shop floor, Warehouse and Store are read-only and nothing fills them, so they stay empty. They are not needed to find a bin.

Finding an item's bin

Open the item and read Default bin (bin locations), or filter the item list on that field. For what is in a bin, open What is in each bin and filter on the bin.

What does not happen

  • Recording a quantity does not change your stock. Your stock is the item's stock in its warehouses.
  • A sale does not take anything out of a bin.
  • Nothing warns you when a bin is empty or short.
