What the AI Gateway is
A secure bridge that lets a conversational AI assistant work directly with your live iVendNext data.
The iVendNext AI Gateway connects a conversational AI assistant to your iVendNext site. Once it is connected, your team can ask the assistant for things they would normally do by hand in the system:
Show me overdue invoices from our top five customers.
Update this lead's status to Qualified and set the next action date to Monday.
Run the monthly sales register and summarise the top movers.
How much stock of SKU-1234 do we have across all warehouses?
Behind that simple conversation, the AI Gateway exposes a set of built-in tools for the work your team does every day: reading and creating records, searching, running reports, moving documents through approvals, analysing data, extracting content from files, and building dashboards. Administrators can publish Skills that teach the assistant how to handle a specific job, and Prompt Templates that give users a tidy starting point for frequent questions.

- User Question:
A user asks the assistant a question in plain language.
- Tool Selection:
The assistant decides which tool fits, then calls the AI Gateway over a secure connection, signed in as that specific user.
- AI Gateway Call:
The AI Gateway checks the user's permissions, runs the tool against your live iVendNext data, and records the call in the audit log.
- Data Processing:
The result returns to the assistant, which presents it in a clear, conversational answer.
