Recharge Your Gift Card
A gift card is a prepaid amount a customer can spend at your stores. The till sells a gift card like any other item, and the receipt shows the card's number. A gift card carries a specific amount of money that can be used at the Store to make purchases.
A gift card is either System Generated or User Defined. It pays for part or all of a sale at the till.
Every Gift Card issued in iVendNext carries a unique number and depending on the customer's preference, can either be redeemed partially or in full.
Recharge the Gift Card
A card whose item has Recharge switched on never expires: saving the item sets its Expiry Days to 0. A card whose item does not allow Recharge cannot be topped up. It expires after its item's Expiry Days, and does not expire when Expiry Days is 0. When the balance of a rechargeable card runs out, the cashier can recharge it at the POS.
The cashier tops up a gift card on the till. The top-up adds what the customer paid for the line to the card's balance. A gift card or store credit cannot pay for a top-up. Read Balance-backed Tenders and The Approval Ladder. To take the payment, see Cash and Card.
If the Open Price feature is activated on the Gift Card, the cashier can set the gift card's price at the POS during the transaction. Otherwise, the card is loaded with the predetermined value assigned to it.
