Setting up a thrift store
Thrift and resale · checked 2026-10-24
This guide takes a thrift store from the first conversation to a live store. An iVendNext partner in your region usually runs these steps with you. A team with its own developers can run them itself. iVendNext gives the product, the apps and a guide at every step.
Check the fit
Put how your stores take, price and sell goods against the apps in Thrift and resale on iVendNext. What the shop and the apps do unchanged is ready. The rest is set-up or something built for you.
Set up the shop
Set up stores, a sorting center if you have one, tills, price lists and users as you would for any retailer. Then connect your ERP: SAP Business One, SAP S/4HANA, Acumatica, NetSuite or Sage X3, or any other ERP your partner connects with the partner kit. For Acumatica and WooCommerce, see the Integration Core guide.
Make it a thrift store
Set your categories and the attributes you grade by, your label layouts, the price inside the barcode, your markdown calendar, and who may type a price or give a discount.
Install the apps
Install the apps your stores need from the App library. Each comes with its own set-up guide: Price change approvals, Price change approvals across stores, Price-deviation audit, Till guard rules, Coupon rules, Lucky draw, Gift card on spend and Post-sale feedback.
Load your data
Load categories, opening stock, loyalty members, and staff and volunteers.
Train your staff and go live
Go live store by store: cashiers, volunteers, sorters and store managers.
Day to day
Your partner supports what it delivers. iVendNext supports the product. The daily work at the till is in iVendNext POS, starting with Starting your day.
