iVendNext POS 2.1.0 Release Notes

iVendNext POS · version 2.1.0 · checked 2026-11-06

Version 2.1.0 is the newest build of iVendNext POS. It builds on iVendNext POS 2.0.0, which opened the till at one address for the phone, the counter till and the tablet. This page lists what 2.1.0 adds or changes for a store, and for a partner who builds an app.

Before you update

  • A POS Profile that lists item groups now limits what the till sells. A profile with no item groups sells every group. Clear the list if you did not mean to limit the till.
  • Every till's Me gains a Time clock row, so any staff member can clock in and out.
  • Run the update in a maintenance window with no till writing, and let it finish before anyone sells or refunds.

Selling at the till

  • A till sells only the item groups its POS Profile lists. A profile with item groups limits the search, the item tiles and every sale the till takes. An empty list sells every group.
  • A time clock on Me: a staff member clocks in and out at the till. Payroll reads the hours with the role iVendNext POS Payroll.
  • A staff rate and a monthly allowance can be set for a staff grade or for one person. They are read before the store's own staff rate.
  • A phone number that several customers share lists every holder when the cashier creates a new customer with it. The cashier picks the right one.
  • A tip at Pay, off until you turn it on for a POS Profile with a Tips payable account. The sale stays the bill. A card is asked for the bill plus the tip, and a cash tip counts as the shift's cash in. The close names each card's day tips.
  • A voucher can be issued for each spend step.
  • A theme can choose the screen the till opens on: Sell, Layaway or Floor.

Orders, delivery and returns

  • Find a sale offers Deliver this sale on a sale with items still to deliver. It takes one tap in place of three to five.
  • One return takes a sale's undelivered items together.
  • A same-item exchange of a sale delivered on a fulfillment plan reads Even swap.
  • The pickup board lists the store's web orders. A web order the customer pays for at collection is paid at the till.
  • A cashier takes a payment on a customer's account with no extra right.
  • A card refund books at the sale's card type.

Offline

  • An offline sale reads a promotion's hours on the store's clock, so a happy-hour price applies offline exactly when it applies online.
  • Times that the server stamped, such as clocked in since and your day opened, read on the till's own clock.

Restaurants, pharmacies and regulated stock

  • A restaurant can keep a check open at a table or a bar seat, send it to the kitchen, add a service charge by service mode, and sell dishes with options. A dish can be sold out, or sold only in set hours. A call number is given for each till for each day.
  • A kitchen station listed with no printer is a kitchen screen. Its tickets are numbered and handed to the screens.
  • A pharmacy till proposes the first lot to expire, and says when a lot was recalled.
  • A partner app can keep a numbered register of regulated stock. Sales at the till and documents in the back office add numbered lines to it.

For partners who build apps

  • The App library lists Waiting for your OK first, when something waits, then Your apps, then Add apps.
  • An app installs in one press and one consent, with everything switched on. Its services, Desk buttons, till keys and event feeds work from the moment of install. A till key shows on the counter till and the tablet, not on the phone.
  • An app's save rules install switched on, except a role rule, which says who to give the role to first.
  • An update that adds a check that can stop a sale, or changes what a check answers when its service is down, asks the store first. An update with nothing new asks nothing.
  • An app may do what the store's administrator can do in Desk. The install refuses only what would book a wrong figure, stop the till's own save, send data where the consent does not show it, or run code in the store's saves.
  • A partner app can ship its own words in a language.
