What iVendNext offers an electronics and phone chain

Electronics and phones · checked 2026-11-08

This page lists what an electronics and phone chain can use in iVendNext today. The format is Electronics and phones: a chain of stores that sell phones, laptops, tablets, TVs and appliances, each unit with its own serial number or IMEI, and the accessories and protection plans that go with them. Every store runs the same till, the iVendNext POS at /pos, on a phone, a tablet or a register. The stock officer works on iVendNext Handheld, the repair counter and head office work in iVendNext Desk, and your ERP keeps the books beside iVendNext.

Every part below is in the till, in iVendNext Desk or in the App library today, except the three listed at the end under Being built. Each part says who uses it, what it rests on and where you can have it. To set the parts up, follow Setting up an electronics store. For the apps a store turns on, see Electronics and phones on iVendNext.

What you get in an electronics and phone chain

What the chain needs Who uses it What it rests on Where you can have it
Every unit sold by its own serial number or IMEI Cashier The till's capture of a serial-tracked item: one unit to a line, each serial checked against your stock as it is entered, and the same serial refused twice on one sale. An IMEI is entered as the serial number; the till checks it against your stock, not its check digit. An item that carries both a serial and a batch is booked one row for each serial. Mark the item as serial-tracked in Desk and the till asks for the serial before Pay. See Selling tracked items. The till, in every country.
A unit that is unknown, already sold or in another store, refused Cashier The same check, at the scan and again at Pay: a serial that is not in stock, is sold (the sale is named), sits on an open sale, or belongs to another store is refused, and so is a serial that belongs to a different item than the one scanned. The till, in every country.
A unit's sale and history Cashier, store manager Find a sale by serial number at the till, the sale named when a sold serial is scanned, and the Serial No Ledger in Desk, which lists each movement of one unit. The till and iVendNext Desk, in every country.
A phone sold with its case and protection plan Cashier A set: one line, where the phone's serial is captured at checkout with the case. The protection plan is a service item that the cashier adds to the same sale as a line; it carries no serial of its own. See Selling tracked items and Editing the Basket. The till, in every country.
Price match with a manager's approval Cashier, store manager A markdown or an open price beyond the cashier's own limit goes to a manager as your approval ladder says. See Markdowns and Open Price and The Approval Ladder. The till, in every country.
Layaway and deposits Cashier A layaway plan on a phone or a laptop: the deposit meets your store's minimum, and the customer collects and settles later. Picking up a serial unit is done at a register, where the unit is scanned. See Split tender and layaway. The till, in every country.
Delivery from another store Cashier, stock officer The till's cross-store order: the sale is paid now, and the store that has the unit scans it when it delivers. See Endless Aisle and Delivery. The till, in every country, once cross-store trading is on.
Click and collect Cashier, runner The till's pickup board, where a web order is picked, made ready and handed over, and Click and collect, which gives each store its lists of web orders to pick and orders waiting for their customer in Desk. See Click and Collect. The till, in every country. Click and collect: App library, free, in every country.
Returns by the sale, the restocking fee and the exchange Cashier, store manager A return is made against its sale; a serial item with no sale is refused, and a serial line returns in full, once. A restocking-style fee is picked from your store's own list of charges. An exchange is one visit: the goods come back, the replacement unit's serial is captured, and the difference is paid or credited; it needs a store-credit payment method set up. See Returning With a Receipt and Exchanges. Refund rules pays a refund back the way the sale was paid. The till, in every country. Refund rules: App library, free, in every country.
Repairs by serial number Repair counter, technician Repairs by serial number: each repair is recorded against the unit's serial or IMEI, from the counter to the hand-over, with the tests, the work, the parts fitted and a slip for the customer. Every unit's repairs show on its serial number. App library, free, in every country. It runs in your own site and sends nothing out. It works in iVendNext Desk; the till does not show it.
Warranty terms Head office, store manager Warranty terms keeps each item's warranty in months, for an item or an item group. A unit's serial number carries its own Warranty until date, which a repair shows when the serial is chosen. App library, free. Warranty terms stores the terms only. It prints no warranty and shows none at the till; a service your partner connects can read them.
Recall by serial number Head office, stock officer Configuration, with Repairs by serial for the units that come back: the Serial No Ledger lists the customers a recalled unit was sold to, the units still in stock move to a store no till sells from so the till refuses them, and the units that come back are taken in as repairs of the kind Recall work. See Recall by serial number. iVendNext Desk and the till, in every country.
Goods in, transfers and counts by serial Stock officer, back office Serial numbers on a purchase receipt, a stock transfer and a stock count in Desk, and the same work by barcode on iVendNext Handheld. See Move stock. Desk, in every country. Handheld comes with a key from iVendNext.
Bins Stock officer, cashier Bin locations: the locations, aisles and bins inside a store, and a till key, Where is it?, that tells the cashier the bin an item is in. App library, free. The bin service runs on CitiXsys hosting; the guide says what it sends.
A unit sold by its own code Cashier Unit codes at the scan: a unit sold by scanning its own code, with its batch, and a unit you have marked Sold refused. You mark a unit Sold in Desk. App library, free.
Gift cards and the gift receipt Cashier Gift cards sold and redeemed at the till, and a gift receipt that prints the lines the cashier chose with no prices. See Balance-backed tenders and Gift Receipts and Reprints. The till, in every country.
Sales tax in each store Cashier, head office Tax is set up for each store in iVendNext Desk, so a sale in one state taxes at that state's rate and a sale in another at its own. The till, in every country; set up in iVendNext Desk.
Your web store Head office The WooCommerce connection: products, prices and stock go to the web store, and paid web orders, payments and refunds come back. See Connections. Comes with a key from iVendNext, in every country.
The chain's own ERP Head office Connectors to SAP Business One, SAP S/4HANA, Acumatica, NetSuite and Sage X3. Every country. Any other ERP is connected by a partner or your own developers.

The rest of this page says what a partner adds and what is being built.

What a partner or your own team adds

An iVendNext partner in your region, or your own developers, sets up and extends what these parts do not cover. Examples are registering a protection plan with its provider, your own labels and slips, extra reports, and links to the systems you already use. They can copy the free apps and change them. See How to customize.

Being built

These parts are being built, so this page has no steps for them.

  1. A returning unit scanned at the till and matched to the serial that was sold, so a swapped unit is refused. Today the screen lists the serials that were sold and the cashier compares them.
  2. The pickup board's Ready taking the scan of the unit that is handed over, for an order with a serial item.
  3. The serial number and the Warranty until date on the basket line and on the receipt.

For the order a store is set up in, see Setting up an electronics store.
