What iVendNext offers a beauty and cosmetics chain

Beauty and cosmetics · checked 2026-11-08

This page lists what a beauty and cosmetics chain can use in iVendNext today. The format is the Beauty and cosmetics chain: a chain of stores that sell skincare, makeup, fragrance, hair and nail products, many of them dated and many sold in shades, in one state or in several. Every store runs the same till, the iVendNext POS at /pos, on a phone, a tablet or a register. Head office works in iVendNext Desk.

Every part below is in the till or in the App library today. Each part says who uses it, what it rests on and where you can have it. To set the parts up, follow Setting up a beauty store. For the apps a store turns on, see Beauty and cosmetics on iVendNext.

What you get in a beauty and cosmetics chain

What the chain needs Who uses it What it rests on Where you can have it
The lot that expires first, sold first Cashier, stock officer, store manager The till's lot choice on the till profile: Suggest or Enforce first expiry, a manager and a reason for any other lot, and a minimum of days left on a lot, which warns or refuses. The till proposes the lot offline too. A lot you disable in iVendNext Desk as recalled is left out of the lot pick, and an expired lot is not offered at an online till, unless the store allows selling an expired lot. See POS Profile. The till, in every country. Lot-tracked items come back only against the sale: ask for the receipt, and search or scan its number.
Markdown before a lot expires Store manager Expiry markdown: one press a day gives each lot near its expiry date its own lower price, by steps you set on each item group, and the till rings it. App library, free, in every country, on CitiXsys hosting. While any lot has its own markdown price, tills do not sell lot-tracked items offline. Restart the tills after the first press, so none sells a lot offline at its full price.
A unit code on each pack Cashier, stock officer Unit codes at the scan: a unit is sold by scanning its own code, with its batch, and a unit marked Sold is refused. App library, free, in every country. It runs in your own site and sends nothing out.
Promotions and coupon rules Cashier, store manager The till's promotions: buy one get one, a gift added with a purchase, a spend slab, a percent or amount off, and a promotion that runs on a customer's special day, such as a birthday. A coupon code is applied at Pay. Coupon rules adds rules to your own coupons, such as a first purchase only. See Promotions, Coupons and Discounts, Buy X get Y and Spend X save an amount. The till, in every country. Coupon rules: App library, free, in every country, on CitiXsys hosting.
Gift sets Cashier, stock officer A gift set is a Bundle in iVendNext Desk. The till sells it as one line, and each piece comes off stock, a lot-tracked piece with its lot. See Selling Tracked Items. The till, in every country.
Your own loyalty program Cashier, store manager A chain uses one loyalty app for a sale. Customer-owned loyalty is a program with your own tiers and cash-back rules, and the member's status on the till. iVendNext Loyalty gives points that a customer earns and spends at the till, with the balance in view during the sale. Customer code check asks for a one-time code, texted from your own SMS gateway, before a customer's points or credit are used. Customer-owned loyalty and iVendNext Loyalty come with a key from iVendNext, in every country. Customer code check: App library, free, in every country, on CitiXsys hosting.
Gift cards, and a gift card on spend Cashier, store manager Gift cards sold, reloaded and redeemed at the till, alone or as one leg of a split payment. Gift card on spend gives a customer your own gift card when a sale reaches your threshold. See Split Tender and Layaway. Gift cards: the till, in every country. Gift card on spend: App library, free, in every country, on CitiXsys hosting.
Returns of opened products, and the exchange of a shade Cashier, store manager Each product carries a Returnable choice and its return days. The till takes a return with the receipt, and a return without one with a manager. An exchange is one visit on one screen: the goods come back, the replacement shade is picked, and the difference is paid or credited. A profile's Store for returned goods is where returned stock is booked, so an opened product goes to a returns store and not back to the shelf. See Returning With a Receipt, Returning Without a Receipt and Exchanges. The till, in every country. Lot-tracked items come back only against the sale: ask for the receipt, and search or scan its number.
Beauty advisors and their commission Advisor, cashier, store manager The advisor is named on each sale, and each advisor carries a commission rate. The Sales Person Commission Summary report, with Sales Invoice as its document type, shows each advisor's sales and commission. The till and iVendNext Desk, in every country.
The shade in another store, and click and collect Advisor, cashier The till's cross-store panel shows each store's stock of an item, and the customer collects it from that store or has it shipped, for a named customer. The collection queue keeps an order until it is picked and handed over. Click and collect gives each store its list of web orders to pick. See Endless Aisle and Delivery and Click and Collect. The till, in every country, once cross-store trading is on. Click and collect: App library, free, in every country.
The receipt, and the gift receipt Cashier The till prints, e-mails, texts or sends by WhatsApp a receipt. For a gift, the cashier chooses the lines that are gifts, and the gift receipt prints them with no prices. It is offered on the finish screen and in Find a sale. See Delivering a Receipt and Gift Receipts and Reprints. The till, in every country. WhatsApp receipts need the WhatsApp messages app, with a key. E-mail and text need your mail and SMS set up. A counter printer needs QZ Tray on the counter.
Tips on a service Cashier, store manager The tip chosen when the customer pays, for a service such as a makeover sold as a service item. Tick Take Tips at Pay on the POS Profile, with a Tips payable account: see Service modes, the service charge and tips. The till, in every country. It is off until the profile ticks it.
US sales tax in each store Cashier, head office An item tax template on each store's warehouse, so each store taxes by its own state's rate, and an exempt item can take none. The till applies the rate line by line, offline too. See Important Retail Settings. The till, in every country; set up in iVendNext Desk.
Post-sale feedback Store manager, head office Post-sale feedback asks each customer how the visit was, by your own SMS, e-mail or WhatsApp, and shows the answers by store. App library, free, in every country, on CitiXsys hosting.
Your web store Head office The WooCommerce connection: products, prices and stock go to the web store, and paid web orders, payments and refunds come back. See Connections. Comes with a key from iVendNext, in every country.
The chain's own ERP Head office Connectors to SAP Business One, SAP S/4HANA, Acumatica, NetSuite and Sage X3. Every country. Any other ERP is connected by a partner or your own developers.

The rest of this page says what a partner adds.

What a partner or your own team adds

An iVendNext partner in your region, or your own developers, sets up and extends what these parts do not cover. Examples are your brand's own labels and slips, extra reports, coupons on a whole range of items, and links to systems not listed above. They can copy the apps and change them. See How to customize.

For the order a store is set up in, see Setting up a beauty store.
